Toddlers are busy trying out new ideas and exploring their surroundings. Learning to walk has introduced a new level of independence. Here’s what else they are doing:
- Toddlers are learning by doing. Toys that encourage exploring, pushing, pulling, filling, dumping, and touching are perfect for this age group.
- Toddlers' vocabularies are exploding. New words are acquired daily and by the end of this period toddlers are constructing sentences and understanding complex stories.
- Children at this age are beginning to use their thinking skills to solve problems evidence by their unique ability to innovate with their toys - turning a cup into a hammer or standing on a riding truck to try to reach a toy.
